Early this morning, I woke up to the sounds of roosters crowing and birds chirping. After sitting quietly to admire the view of the Indian ocean in the distance, I ordered room (or rather villa) service and had a quiet breakfast al fresco - fresh tropical fruit, mango juice, a basket of homemade bread and toast with pineapple ginger jam and sweet orange marmalade. What a fantastic start! This is my first day of island life and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Tomorrow, the fun starts - househunting, organizing my son's uniform for his new school, getting a mobile phone line and the to-do list goes on and on and on. Today, I'm going to have my breakfast, eat slowly and spend the rest of the day by the plunge pool, reading and relaxing. This is the way to live.
