World's 50 Best Restaurants

The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2009 list is out with #1 El Bulli and #2 The Fat Duck keeping their spots from last year.  There are also nine new entries from Italy, Japan, Austria, France, U.S., Singapore, Australia and Sweden  From the top 50, I've been to four.  The list also extends to 51-100 of which I've been to (only) five which just means lots more eating out to be done this year.

wow, I have only been to one - the French Laundry! Looks like I have my work cut out for me, and frankly, if I was in a different life, traveling around the world just to eat at the best restaurants each country has to offer might just be what I would do! As it is, I will probably just have to dream a lot :-)

Hi Gudrun,

I know what you mean - as it is, to have eaten at The French Laundry is an achievement because getting a reservation is impossible and the food is memorable.

Thanks for checking in and keep on dreaming!

I've only eaten in 2 of them: El Bulli and Celler de Can Roca. Im hoping to add some to my list this year....

Well, at least you've eaten at the #1 restaurant in the world. Hope you have some new tips for Madrid and Barcelona.

In Madrid I ate in a place called "Club Allard". Quite ok (it's a 1 star) I'll post it in my blog soon...

I look forward to reading about it!
