Here comes the sun

Finally, after almost two weeks of non-stop rain, the sun is out and the sky is blue once again. After spending most days at home under the duvet, I decided to go out and have lunch with my husband today. We went to La Loggia of the Hotel Villa Padierna to try the new menu which started last week.

A and I both had soup to start and fish as our main course - cream of zucchini with Mahones cheese for him and a white bean soup with monk fish for me which was the soup of the day. Both were thick hearty soups full of flavour and very filling. This was followed by salmon loin with artichoke puree and asparagus for him and the seared sea bass with sweet tomato compote and potato puree for me. The portions were just right and the fish was perfectly cooked. It's a nice change from the simpler dishes that used to be offered at this restaurant before. The dessert menu was also but we just couldn't manage another plate between us so we'll save that for our next visit.
